Palette Knife Artist
George Eguchi paints with a single palette knife using oils on canvas. He has always been drawn to the creative process. Coming up with something new that captures a thought, a feeling, or a fleeting image in his mind. Painting for him is like a meditation. You have to be fully in the moment and what he loves is how the creative process so often produces delightful surprises for him. With a palette knife, a stroke of the knife or a subtle change in pressure will mix and lay the colors on his canvas with unexpected results. Creating beauty is truly rewarding. Colors speak to George and loves the contrasts of bold strokes of the knife shrouded by an ethereal mist. He wants his paintings to convey a certain mood or feeling while at the same time leaving room to be filled by the imagination of the viewer.

Sage King is a lover of all things fiber art, yoga, and nature. She found her way to Hawaii in 2010 and found a way to macrame in 2019. She remembers knotting her first square knots while she was pregnant with her daughter and sensing a deep knowing in those moments that her hands were meant for this. On most days you'll find Sage knotting and weaving in her home studio with her children playing alongside her.
From a very young age, Sage always had her hands in some type of craftwork, but it wasn’t until she found macramé that she deeply connected to the fiber arts. What began as a form of meditation and a balance to the chaos of motherhood, has become her greatest passion. She’s self-taught and finds inspiration through her daily encounters with the windward shoreline, the mokulua islands and all of the beauty of Hawaii that surrounds her each day. Sage knots and weaves with intention, allowing her hands to lead the creation of each piece with a general sense of where she’s headed. She aspires to bring the beauty and energy of the islands to life through her macramé.
