Meet Our Instructors
Certified Bikram Yoga Instructor
In 2003, Manny Nova opened the Bikram Yoga Studio in Hawaii Kai where he has been primarily/exclusively teaching hatha yoga in an infrared heated environment. While teaching for the past 19 years, Manny has also privately travelled, studied, and practiced yoga throughout South East Asia with yoga guru Bikram Choudhury. In anticipation of retirement on the horizon, Manny has joined and collaborated with our Yoga & Art Studio with the explicit desire to continue serving our existing yoga clientele. He is helping to evolve the studio for the benefit and future of our close knit yoga community in Hawaii Kai.
From Santa Barbara, California, he was a graduate of Claremont Men’s College and holds a Master's degree from UCLA. He arrived in Hawaii in 1993 as Regional Manager for the Bank of America. Manny later served as Income Property Manager for the Department of Hawaiian Homelands. He was involved with many community projects involving private/public sector partnerships.
Besides yoga, his hobbies include: basketball, golf and loving care of Rojito (his red-nosed apple headed chihuahua).
Certified Vinyasa Yoga Instructor
Brazilian by birth and Hawaiian by heart, Mia Bylaardt fell in love with yoga seven years ago while living here in Hawaii. She has been teaching for over a year.
She completed a 200 hour yoga teacher training in August 2018, as well a 50 hour yoga teacher training extension program in October 2019 at Core Power Yoga in Kailua. In August 2021, she also certified as a yoga trapeze instructor through YB Yoga Teachers College.
She is passionate about sharing a Vinyasa gentle yoga flow to release tension and to connect with the breath while gaining strength and flexibility. She loves to teach as a way to inspire and help others, as yoga did for her. Mia drives her students with a gentle flow so they can feel into their bodies, open their hearts and stand in their truth.
